Circuit Components

Reusable circuit-component knowledge for Greybound models.

This section contains reusable circuit-component knowledge: cells, passive networks, solver rules, validation gates, and shared electrical behavior. Product or family targets belong under knowledge/models/.

Policy

Do not store copied schematic scans, service PDFs, or current-production circuit artwork in this repository. In this section, document:

  • reusable component cells,
  • generic topology patterns,
  • solver assumptions,
  • state variables,
  • validation plans,
  • public source URLs for readers to consult themselves.

When a circuit source is copyrighted or has unclear redistribution rights, link to it and summarize only the engineering facts needed by Greybound.

Current Component Areas

  • Passive networks: tone stacks, coupling, loading, and cable behavior.
  • Tube stages: ECC83/12AX7 stages, phase inverters, power stages, supply sag.
  • BJT stages: transistor pedal cells, diode clipping, coupling capacitors.
  • Validation: shared evidence gates for component-level work.

Confidence Vocabulary

  • high: stable topology or value across trusted references, or measured in our own fixtures.
  • medium: plausible public-reference value, but variant-sensitive or not yet measured.
  • low: implementation placeholder or modeling assumption needing measurement.

Use this vocabulary when adding new circuit notes so implementation choices remain auditable.
